SMALL KITCHEN DESIGN

Hello Readers !!
Welcome back to our blog and our new post is about how to design a small kitchen with perfect utilization of space.
For all of you to understand the concept i have chosen a u-shaped kitchen with dimensions 7'-6" x 8'-9".well the above pick is a top view of the kitchen with same dimensions.
This was a renovation project and we have designed this kitchen for some client in Delhi.
As i said earlier its a u shaped kitchen, we have taken sink , hob and fridge on all 3 walls .
Basic rule to keep in mind while designing a kitchen is that try not to place your hob and sink in the same direction and on a single slab until and unless you have only one slab to work with.

we will start with first wall as you can see in the elevation we have first placed our fridge and along with that we have provided a pantry unit , as the size of kitchen is not too big, tall units are very useful in this situation if can find a space to place one. As the name implies its a big units with either shelves or drawers or inbuilt pantry units , they can store a lot of material and that's why its good to have them if you have a small kitchen.

Now this is the center wall with hob placed on this one , as the kitchen is small we have placed a hob and chimney above that with 2 feet or 600 mm dimension. Hob and chimneys have a specific dimension's so you have to decide it as per your kitchen size which will serve you better.
Below hob we have provided 3 drawers, 2 of similar size and one with bigger size , and along with that as you can see we have provided open area because the area left was too small too place any cabinet or pull out . so in such situation you can provide open area to put some small things.

Moving on to the last wall, we have our sink placed on this one , and we have provided a double bowl sink in the corner. As the client didn't had any outer area where they can wash utensils so a double bowl sink was  must for them. So we have provided them double bowl sink in a sizeof 36" which is neither too big as per the size of kitchen and it will also solve the purpose of washing without any trouble. Above sink we have provided a dish rack to stack utensils and along with sing you have a pullout and in the corner is a corner unit.

I hope this post has been resourceful in helping you design your kitchen and space.
well if you think i missed out on something i would love to hear from you and if you all like the post would like to hear about that too .And if you have any query or anything you wanna ask about kitchen design you can leave a comment. !!

GLORIOUS DIWALI : FESTIVE DECOR IDEAS

                                                                                                                                                                   Hello Readers !!
Welcome back to our blog and as you all know Diwali is round the corner again so today's blog is all about festive decor ideas.
Diwali is the most exuberant time of the year. Its all about hypnotic dancing flames, colors, scented candles, fragrance of fresh flowers, the brightness of diyas , the color pop of silk cushions and Indian sweets without which any festival is incomplete.
so here are some glimpse of that , which will help you create the festive ambiance:
Choose A Color Platte :
As Diwali is all about light and colors , you can choose a color tone to work with and mix match different fabrics to add that festive look to your home.
This Diwali i have created this low sitting in one corner of my house , and i have used silk cushion with one geometric print and the other ones with work on them adds just the perfect spark to the area.
Some fresh flowers and scented candles can do wonders and you cannot go wrong with any of them.
well i have just used a wooden tray to create the look along with some books, an  antique brass looking fan and my fresh single flower stick in a plain tinted glass jar .
along side i have placed a tea light candle holder . The popping red color of the lantern just changes the way it looks.
Tea Light Candles:
Tea light candles look ethereal weather in simple glass ware, or bright tea light holders.you can use mosaic tea light holders, metal lanterns or just simple plain glass or colored glass tea light holders .you can even use some plain tea glasses lying in your house for the decor. just some water , few fresh flower petals and a tea light candle .I just love to see how simple arrangement of candles can add that beauty and magic to our home.

Diyas :
Diyas are always there when it comes to Diwali , we use it worship , we use it for decoration and believe me guys you wont get anything cheaper than this for your home to look festive ready. you can easily find them in your local market , lots of people are selling plain and decorative diyas just at the corner of your street .you can buy them in bulk if you pooja preparation and decoration. well i have just used plain diyas here in a decorative thali and as you can see its just that simple and looks just too beautiful.

Antique Brass :you can never go wrong with
Diwali is the perfect time to bring out those brass diyas , Thalis , glasses, brass Urli , brass Ganesha statue and anything you have . You can never c go wrong with brass items , just add old items with some new items and you are good to go.

I hope this post has been resourceful in helping you create a festive ambiance this diwali.
well if you think i missed out on something i would love to hear from you and if you all like the post would like to hear about that too.
wishing you all a very happy and safe Diwali.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS : RANGOLI DESIGNS TO MAKE THIS FESTIVE SEASON

Rangolis are traditional Indian art form in which patterns are created on the floor or ground using rice flour, colored rice, colored sand or flower petals. Being a part of Indian tradition concept of rangoli have been a part of our lives from ages. These decorative artworks are believed to bring good-luck at home.
For those looking for new ideas i have put together few easy to make simple designs to help you through the process.

The technique of making these designs is by deftly holding pinches of powder between the thumb ad the first finger and letting the power flow in the desired direction.
you can draw a rangoli either at the entrance of the house , inside in the any corner of the house or outside the pooja room but make sure its not in the way so people don't step on it.

Rangoli powders are available in variety of colors and you can make your design as bright and colorful as you want . you can mix and match colors as per your home color palate and keeping in mind the decor .

If you are a beginner try some small size rangolis with geometrical prints . As they are easy to form and fill colors.
